What is Mission 10:42?
Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 04:39PM Mission 10:42 is dedicated to providing clean water in Africa. It gets its name from Matthew 10:42, a verse in the Bible. Matthew 10:42 says, "If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
Thousands of people die every day from lack of clean water. Women and children walk up to ten miles to get water that isn't even safe to drink. When my friends and I heard that, we knew we had to do something! We began selling bracelets to raise money and spread the word.
Here's another interesting fact: Mission 10:42 was founded, and is run by teenagers. We are teens who want to live out Jesus' message of love and compassion. We want to serve our brothers and sisters not only in our local community, but in communities halfway around the world. You don't have to wait until you're an adult to change the world.
